Do All Things Without Grumbling or Disputing

Updated: Sep 28, 2022

Are you up for the apostle Paul’s Daily Challenge? “Do all things without grumbling or disputing.” Philippians 2:14

Like running a marathon, it sounds easy, but try that 26.2 (42 kilometers) without building up to it. You will feel Jesus’ pain!

The real challenge is “perfect” self-control. God’s not cutting us any slack. He’s not saying control your grumbling and/or disputing by 50 percent. Or 90 percent. Or 98 percent. He says 100 percent--ALL THINGS--will be without grumbling or disputing.

I have only been held to the 100 percent standard during one period of my life. As a Missile Launch Officer with Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles (ICBMs), I was expected to be “PERFECT” with everything I did with nuclear missiles. All missile combat crews were held to the standard reserved for God. It was the norm and was in the world’s best interest.

So what is the secret to 100 percent self-control in all things? LOVE.

Think about why love is the secret to 100 percent success with Paul’s daily challenge. Got it? Okay, no grumbling...time to get out there and train for that marathon! I believe in ya!
