Trust in The Lord

Updated: Jan 17

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:5-6

This is another example of a daily challenge offered by God.

It’s a seductive illusion to think that we--as mere mortals--have mastered the mysteries of the universe.

That we are so confident in our sciences that we can lean on our own understanding.

That we no longer need God because we can figure it out on our own.

Really? Is that not the epitome of arrogance?

Many will call Christians “fools” because we have faith in God and acknowledge Him. But Proverbs 14:16 says, “But a fool is arrogant and careless.”

Failing to trust in the Lord and acknowledge Him makes one careless. It makes getting off the straight path so much easier. Before they know it, the folly of their ways catch up and it is time to reap the whirlwind!

This daily challenge is potentially life-altering. Whether it is for the better (trusting in the Lord) or worse (leaning on your own understanding) is a choice everyone needs to make.

May God bless you with sound wisdom and understanding to make the right choice.
